Texo Ergo Sum

I Knit, therefore I am

Texo Ergo Sum (I Knit, therefore I am) is the logo that was designed by Barbara Logan and myself. It was modelled on the writing of the philosopher Descartes who wrote, “I Think; Therefore I Am.” The motto really expresses my thoughts when it comes to knitting. What started out as a hobby then turned into a few designs with their patterns commissioned by yarn companies.

I used my knowledge of knitting to help others through articles that appeared in machine knitting magazines. I was persuaded to start a club in London for other machine knitters. Now, with the lack of seminars for knitters in the U.K. and lack of distributors of my patterns and books, I hope to reach machine knitters who can access my web page.

Since September we moved our club meetings to Ealing in London at Open Ealing Art Centre.  For those of  you who are unable to attend, I have set up a Facebook page Elaine Cater's Designs.  It has much of the information and ideas that we discuss at our club meetings.
